CHURCH CLEANING at St. Osmund is now changed from Tuesday, December 9th to Tuesday 16th of December at 10am.

SERIOUS PROBLEM: For a long time there were no buildings next to the hall since they demolished the school. Then they built new houses and they are very close to the hall. The first time we played music there, they rang up and asked us to turn the volume down. This has happened again, so I don’t know what the answer is . The walls of the hall are thin – no insulation to deaden the sound.

PARISH FOLK GROUP will play the guitars at 5.30 mass on Saturday December 13th.

THE CHRISTMAS SOCIAL AT ST. OSMUND: will be on Sunday, Dec. 7th. From 2-4. Can you donate mince pies and cakes please?

THE CHRISTMAS SOCIAL AT ST. TERESA: Christmas social at St. Teresa will be on Sunday December 14th, in the school hall.

RAFFLE PRIZES wanted for Christmas draw on Sunday, December 7th in St. Osmund’s and on December 14th at St. Teresa’s hall at the Christmas get-together celebration. £100 for first prize already donated at St. Osmund’s to the donor. TICKETS ON SALE

S.V.P. MEETING To be arranged with Fr. Emmanuel.

SOCIAL COMMITTEE next meeting is on to be arranged with Fr. Emmanuel.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS for 2026 decided by St. Osmund social committee. Flatcappers concert. Irish dancing display with maybe an Irish dance night. Bolton Hospice fundraising night. Fish and chips some Friday lunch time. Coach trip—maybe to Skipton market which is open on Fridays. Hall is available for hire (as long as you don’t make too much noise and make the neighbours complain!!)

DIOCESAN ALMANACS £5, only a few!

ST. TERESA SALE OF LAND They have done a survey – mining, health and safety, gas monitoring, chemical soil testing, asbestos quantification, on the land at back of church and found a few issues. There was a pond there and the builders doing the racecourse estate dumped all their waste materials in it instead of disposing of it all properly. Asbestos has been found so it will devalue the land a bit.
