BAPTISMS

Please speak first to Father Emmanuel after Sunday Mass, who will give you a form to fill in and submit back to him.

Parents must attend Mass before a date can be agreed for baptism. Baptism preparation meetings take place once a month on a Wednesday at 7 pm. The next meeting will be in the new year.

LITURGY COMMITTEE

Those who are willing to join the liturgy committee should identify with Fr. Emmanuel.

Their role is to help the Priest in planning and overseeing the Parish liturgical life, and to coordinate liturgical ministries.

Parish Homily

Sixth Sunday of Advent 2025

The sermon will be available in full from
5.30 pm on Saturday, 15th February 2026

SOCIAL COMMITTEE: They will have their meeting with Fr. Emmanuel on Wednesday, the 25th of February at 6 pm in the Presbytery.

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA) Please help us to invite any adult who is willing to convert to the Catholic faith, to be baptised, confirmed or to receive First Holy Communion during this Easter. Classes will begin soon.

Anyone who is willing to be one of the Instructors for the RCIA classes should also identify with Fr. Emmanuel.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS for 2026 to be decided by St. Osmund social committee. Flatcappers concert. Irish dancing display, with (maybe) an Irish dance night. Fish and chips some Friday lunch time. Coach trip-maybe to Skipton market which is open on Fridays.

HALL is available for hire (as long as you don’t make too much noise and make the neighbours complain! ! )

ST. TERESA SALE OF LAND: They have done a survey: mining, health and safety, gas monitoring, chemical soil testing, asbestos quantification, on the land at back of church and found a few issues. There was a pond there, and the builders doing the racecourse estate dumped all their waste materials in it instead of disposing of it properly. Asbestos has been found, so it will devalue the land a bit.
