Parents must attend Mass before a date can be agreed for baptism. Baptism preparation meetings take place once a month on a Wednesday at 7pm.

Twenty-Fifth Sunday of Year A 2026

PILGRIMAGE TO THE SHRINE OF BLESSED DOMINIC BARBERI – We will be going on a pilgrimage as a parish to the shrine of Blessed Dominic Barberi, which is in 40 Monastery Road, Sutton, St Helens, Liverpool WA9 3ZD on Wednesday the 30th of this month. We are meant to be there at 11 am. We are not organizing any coach trip to the place. All those who wish to go are to transport themselves to the place. But those who may like to go but may not be able to transport themselves need to identify on time so that an arrangement could be made with those who will be driving to the place.
There is a list at the back of the Church, please pen down your name if you would like to attend.

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA) – We are about to begin RCIA in our parish. It will be taking place every 2nd and last Tuesdays of the month at 5:30 pm in the Presbytery. Please help us to invite all the adults are yet to receive the three sacraments of Christian Initiation (Baptism, First Holy Communion and Confirmation).

FLATCAPPERS GROUP – has been booked for a social evening event in the Parish Hall, to be held on Saturday, 17th October 2026 doors open 7:00pm – 11:00pm, tickets will be at a cost of £11.00 per person including supper, tickets will be going on sale this weekend from St Osmunds Church.

DEANERY HOLY HOUR – Our Deanery Clergy recently met and agreed that it would be good to have more opportunities to pray together across Bolton Deanery. We will therefore offer monthly Holy hour, to take place on the last Friday of each month, starting this month of September and it will move around the different Bolton Parishes. The first one will be at St. Mary’s Horwich on Friday 25th September at 7 pm in church. As well as a period of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, there will also be the opportunity for Confession.

DIOCESAN INFORMATION:

Family Fast Day will be on Friday 2nd of October 2026. As a result, the CAFOD’s envelopes will be given out in all the Masses next weekend. Simon Holleron who is the CAFOD rep for the diocese will be addressing us briefly after communion in all the masses next weekend.

There will be a Diocesan Pilgrimage to Pantasaph Monastery in North Wales for the Year of St Francis of Assisi, which takes place on Saturday 17th October 2026. The coach will leave the 1st pick up point at 9am and will be returning at around 6 pm. The cost of the trip is £35 which includes the following: Coach travel, Lunch, Tea/Coffee, and donation to the monastery. Bishop John Arnold will celebrate the Mass in honour of Our Lady of Walsingham on Thursday 24th September 2026 at the Cathedral Church. Mass will start at 7 pm and will be followed by refreshments.
