SOCIAL COMMITTEE

Next meeting is to be arranged with Fr. Emmanuel.

 Sucevita Monastery, Bucovina, Romania

CHURCH CLEANING at St Osmund Tuesday 3rd February at 9:45 any volunteer or helpers would be much appreciated.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS for 2026 to be decided by St. Osmund social committee. Flatcappers concert. Irish dancing display, with (maybe) an Irish dance night. Fish and chips some Friday lunch time. Coach trip-maybe to Skipton market which is open on Fridays.

HALL is available for hire (as long as you don’t make too much noise and make the neighbours complain! ! )

ST. TERESA SALE OF LAND: They have done a survey: mining, health and safety, gas monitoring, chemical soil testing, asbestos quantification, on the land at back of church and found a few issues. There was a pond there, and the builders doing the racecourse estate dumped all their waste materials in it instead of disposing of it properly. Asbestos has been found, so it will devalue the land a bit.

PAX CHRISTI COLLECTION: Peace Sunday 18th January 2026

FR. EMMANUEL’S LEAVE: Fr. Emmanuel will be going for his annual leave on the 29th of December to come back on the 6th of February. Another Priest Fr. Ernest Attah will be coming for Masses on Sundays (Vigil Mass on Saturday included), Tuesdays and Thursdays, and there will be Eucharistic services on Wednesdays and Fridays.
